Science Diplomacy workshop for ECRs and MCRs

The "Foundations of Science Diplomacy" training programme aims to equip early and mid-career researchers from Africa with the essential knowledge and skills needed to engage effectively in science diplomacy. Delivered through a collaborative effort involving the Future Earth Africa Hub and its Leadership Centre, UNESCO's International Science, Technology and Innovation Centre for South-South Cooperation, and other esteemed institutions, this intensive programme focuses on enhancing the capacity of researchers to navigate the complexities of science, policy, and international cooperation. Participants will learn fundamental concepts of science diplomacy, develop an awareness of the science-policy interface, and build practical skills necessary for effective communication and negotiation. Through case studies and simulations, they will apply these concepts to real-world scenarios, fostering a community of emerging knowledge brokers poised to influence evidence-informed decision-making. The programme not only promotes collaboration within the Global South but also encourages participants to establish professional networks and create personal action plans for integrating science diplomacy into their careers, ultimately contributing to more inclusive global dialogues.
