Context
The future of sustainability science in the global South depends on collaboration. No single institution or country can tackle the scale of challenges posed by climate change, food insecurity, and energy transitions alone. This keynote will highlight how partnerships and alliances across the Global South can unlock innovation, mobilize investment, and strengthen the science-policy interface.
It will introduce two new collaborative projects—the Global University Alliance and the Africa–Asia Initiative—as platforms designed to foster cross-regional research partnerships, shared capacity-building, and joint innovation pathways. These initiatives aim to amplify the voices of Global South institutions, ensuring they are not only participants but leaders in shaping global sustainability agendas.
