This proposed session adopts the Panel Discussion design/method. It seeks to explore how diverse knowledge systems such as academic research, policy expertise, indigenous knowledge, and technological innovation, can be integrated to accelerate Africa’s sustainability transformation. It will illustrate how cross-sector collaboration can drive transformative outcomes for sustainable development. Anchored in the conference theme, “From Research to Action: Innovation for a Sustainable Africa,” the session highlights practical pathways for strengthening science-policy interfaces, enhancing knowledge co-production, and translating evidence into action. This session is designed for researchers, policymakers, practitioners, and community actors. Speakers will showcase African-led research breakthroughs, digital and AI-driven innovations, and community-based practices that demonstrate the continent’s leadership in shaping contextual, inclusive solutions.
